| Did some speed work at Liberty. We ran fartleks of 3 mins hard 1 min jog 7 times. I admit it was rather beastly because I was keeping up with my teammate Oliver who is faster than I am. |

| Did some training with the Arnold Air Society candidates which consisted of lots of lunges and squats followed by some wind sprints. It was about 2 miles total. Then I went on a 9 miler by the U. My legs felt like crap. |

| Ran over to Sugar House and then did some speed work. Coach had us run fartleks of 2x10 minutes. I kept about a 6:02-6:05 pace. Although Sugar House park is quite hilly, it is pretty easy to catch even splits due to the recovery portion on downhills. |

| This week is supposed to be a taper week at about 30 miles so I am takin it pretty easy. I was also planning to run everyday instead of cross training one day. I should have cross trained because I felt some pain in my tendon. Looks like I will be swimmin tomorrow... Bleh |

| Cross training day to give my leg a break... Not literally... I usually go for 50 minutes but I had no desire to swim back and forth for 50 min so I decided to do some interval stuff. I did 2x300 at about 4:57, then I did 4x200 at about 3:13 followed by 5x50 at 42 seconds per. It was a bit tiring but I was able to keep my splits almost exact. I guess runners have a knack for hitting splits with all the speed work. | Add Comment |

| I decided to play it safe and cross train again today. I should be running tomorrow. Hopefully the ice and Tiger Balm will have done its job. Today I just used the spin bike for 50 minutes and then swam 10 laps... I also chillaxed in the hot tub.. Real nice. I was sweating like a beast creature on that bike... | Comments(2) |

| No tendinitis today :) I ran over to Sugarhouse Park and did two laps on the inside. I then did a half lap on the outside to get my mileage up to 6. Felt good to be out running again :) |

| California running! I ran in Vista which is hill central. I was actually planning to do 10 miles but I was retarded with math. What happened was I went .25 out on one road and realized I didn't want to go that way so I came back and went another. That equals .5 miles right? Well when I did my 5 miles out i thought, "Hey! I need to go a bit further to compensate because I won't be running that same road again!" So for some reason I decided I needed to go out to 5.5 miles instead of 5.25. I guess it didn't compute that the other road added up to .5. So basically I got back just under 11 and figured I might as well get there. The whole 5 miles out I was crying on the inside because it was all downhill but it ended up being a good run :) |

| Dark and rainy this morning. Had to go at about 5 am because we were planning on leaving at 6:30. The problem with where I was running is that the roads are somewhat busy and there aren't really any shoulders. I would say it was quite scary. |

| Last run in Cali... Decided to take a different route today. Probably the scariest run I have ever had. I basically ended up on a highway with no shoulder in the rain and dark. I was completely drenched and scared for my life. 2 of my miles were a 6:30 pace just because of that. I survived luckily. | Add Comment |
